Mr. James Agyenim-Boateng is a seasoned legal and media professional with extensive experience in public communication, journalism, political strategy, and governance. He is widely recognized for his articulate advocacy, in-depth understanding of public affairs, and effective stakeholder engagement across both the public and private sectors.
He has held key positions in government, including serving as a Presidential Aide and Deputy Minister of Information under the administration of President John Evans Atta Mills. In this role, he played a central role in government communication, media relations, and policy dissemination.
Mr. Agyenim-Boateng is also an accomplished broadcaster and former host at Radio Gold, Joy FM and TV3 Ghana, where he was known for his professionalism and thoughtful political discourse. His background in journalism has made him a credible voice in national conversations on governance, democracy, and development.
He has served as the spokesperson for the NDC’s 2020 election campaign and has been a lead communicator for the party on various platforms. His work has earned him respect across political and media landscapes for his clarity, composure, and insight.
Mr. Agyenim-Boateng continues to contribute to national development through legal practice, public speaking, political engagement, and mentorship of young professionals in media and public affairs.
From January 2023 to January 2025, he was communications specialist to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Minority Caucus in the Parliament of Ghana and was responsible for shaping the Caucus’ communications both in and out of the Chamber. He was also responsible for executing key strategic communications functions for the then Minority Caucus in Parliament.
Prior to that, he was Deputy Minister of Information, and later, Deputy Minister of Tourism.
A lawyer by training, Mr. Agyenim-Boateng holds a law degree from the University of Ghana and was called to the Ghana Bar. He also holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs, and has undergone professional training in media and communications locally and abroad.
