Major Ben Donkor (Rtd.) is a distinguished retired military officer, industrialist, and business executive with over four decades of leadership experience spanning the public and private sectors.
Following his service with the Armed Forces Education Service, he transitioned into industrial management within the GIHOC Group of Companies, where he served as General Manager and CEO of several key industrial entities. His leadership extended to the GIHOC Vegetable Oil Mills (Esiama), Kumasi Jute Factory, GIHOC Canary (Nsawam, Wenchi, and Pawlugu), GIHOC Meat Processing Factories (Tema and Bolgatanga), and the GIHOC Boatyards (Tema and Takoradi).
In 1986, Major Donkor (Rtd) entered the private sector, becoming a representative for a European supplier of industrial machinery and raw materials. His entrepreneurial acumen led to the co-founding of IVORY FINANCE COMPANY, a Bank of Ghana-licensed finance house, where he served as the founding Managing Director.
He has a rich portfolio of board services across multiple industries, including Mainstream Reinsurance Company, Global Assurance Company (Ghana), Agona Rural Bank, CEDECOM, Cape Coast, Swedru Secondary High School – Board Chairman and University of Cape Coast – Council Member and Non-Executive Director
Major Donkor (Rtd) is a passionate golfer and an active member of the Achimota Golf Club. With his broad experience in strategic planning, policy formulation, and institutional governance, he continues to offer invaluable leadership and direction in corporate and developmental arenas.
Educated at the University of Ghana, Legon and the Graduate School of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Washington DC, he is highly regarded for his expertise in education, industrial management, banking, insurance, and corporate governance.
