Isaac Alex Darko

His career reflects a strong track record in financial oversight, internal controls, and strategic fiscal management.

He currently serves as the Financial Controller of the Synergy Alliance Group of Companies, where he provides strategic leadership in financial planning, reporting, and corporate governance. In addition to this role, he has been a Partner at SMA & Associates, an accounting and auditing firm, since 2016, contributing his expertise in audit practice, tax advisory, and financial consultancy.

Mr. Darko previously held several key management positions at the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) between 2010 and 2018, where he served in progressive roles including Deputy Accounts Manager, Accounts Manager, and Audit Manager. His tenure at COCOBOD was marked by efficiency improvements in financial reporting, compliance enhancement, and the strengthening of internal control systems.

From 2019 to 2023, he was the Finance Manager of Agricultural Manufacturing Group Limited, where he was instrumental in aligning financial operations with corporate growth strategies and ensuring regulatory compliance.

In addition to his corporate roles, Mr. Darko has made significant contributions to public sector governance. He served as a Member of the Audit Committee of the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources from 2019 to 2021 and as Chairman of the Committee from 2021 to 2023. He also serves as a Member of the Entity Tender Committee of the Ghana Institute of Clinical Genetics – Korle Bu, a position he has held since 2019.

Mr. Darko is an alumnus of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) and the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), where he obtained an Executive Master’s in Business Administration (Finance). Professionally, he is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG) and a Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, Ghana.
