Reinsurance is an arrangement by which an insurance company passes on a portion of the risk it has assumed onto another company which may be an insurance or a professional reinsurance company.
This may be done directly or through an intermediary referred to as a reinsurance broker.
SIC utilises this arrangement to enhance its capacity and financial security to underwrite any risk.
